went to the Ribble today for a few hours found a peg just as the heavens opened.out came new brolly first time out, pushed the bank stick
in the ground put brolly open onto bank stick angled it back ,pick up pegs and guy ropes as it was very windy get around the back before i could peg it down off it went into river.sailed up river upside down then sank into 10ft of water.
thats a quick £50 lost .picked all gear up back to car and home soaked
.one winter did 3 in three trips lost broken
fox specialist will have to come out of retirement, have moved the storm pole adaptors up to take longer storm poles more stable in wind

Hi Gary, you might want to get commissioned a Brolly pole made from solid aluminum with a screw spike in the end , like the nash one I have...
They are solid and your Brolly is going nowhere..

Spare a thought for the poor bloke who was fishing 4 swims downstream. He spent 30 mins battling the fish of a lifetime before putting his landing net under an inside out brolly!

Reminds me of my first ‘barbel’ i caught on a light tip rod when i was in my teens. I hooked into the monster and battled it for about 10 minutes, i shouted “BARBEL ON” and asked my mate to bring the ‘big’ landing net, by which time a small crowd had amassed behind me to witness the capture. I stayed cool and finally got it in some calmer water ready to net it and realised i had hooked the handle of a plastic co-op bag! (I can still hear the sighs of disappointment from the crowd as they walked away shaking their heads)
