Hi all and happy new year!

Hoping someone with the above rods (standard off the shelf build in either 30mm or 40mm ringing) can clarify something for me before I make a purchase. The online info on some sites states Fuji dps 16mm reel seat, the same as my 11ft river and barbel tamers. Some others state 18mm Fuji dps. The Free Spirit website doesn’t state the size. The reels I will use these rods with won’t fit the 16mm seat (shimmy 8000 OC’s, tried them on my other tamers with the 16mm dps) hence I would appreciate anyone who owns these rods confirming the size of the reel seat if possible. The alternative if they come in at 16mm is the 3lb Cadence Barbel rods so any thoughts from people who own them would also be appreciated. They are for Severn / Trent up to 8oz flood fishing.
 
Not sure about the reel seats - however if your Trent bashing I'd go for the 13' footers anyway; you might also find it has a bigger reel seat?
 
Toyed with the idea but 13ft will be a ball ache on the Severn areas I fish. Not going to gamble on it, if no one knows and a shop can’t confirm I’ll just go for the Cadence. Although I struggle to believe they would fit a 16mm reel seat to a flood / snag rod as the majority of people will be using 6000 plus sized bait runners or mini big pits (non of which fit in a 16mm dps seat).
 
Probably of no help to you but the 13ft 40mm Tamer Heavy Water has a Fuji reel fitting which has a tube section with an outside diameter of 18 mm and accepts the bigger size reel feet found on 6000 and big pit size reels

I’ve just checked the outside diameter of the dps 16 reel seats on my tamers and they are 18mm. Can I ask what reels your using as neither my 6000D’s or 8000 OC’s will fit this reel seat and based on what you said I think the heavy water tamers have the dps 16 fitted too.

Yes, it's quite a slim handle but I've tried standard 6010 bait runners, the medium longcast XTA baitrunner, Shimano original big longcasts and Okuma 6k LS baitrunners. All fit on fine.
Incidentally, I think the 13 footers are great rods for high water or where you need to cast heavier feeders but still have a very nice playing action.
But rods are a personal thing...
