I don't understand why they do the same lengths and the same curves all the time. 10ft or 11ft 6in, much more interesting...

You (the manufacturer) sell what the market wants (looks/price/quality/quantity etc) - not necessarily the best available product.I don't understand why they do the same lengths and the same curves all the time. 10ft or 11ft 6in, much more interesting...
Why only 1.75?Good news for buyers of good second hand rods, be a few 12ft 1.75 tc Harrison Rods coming up for sale with the tackle tarts rushing for the new Aviator Rods.
Be nice to see one with a bend in it.. personally I don't like his ring spacing, just one on the butt is bit too minimal for me and maybe 5 plus the tip again...Mark Tunley has now posted a useful introductory video to the Aviators on his FB page. Check out Marks article on this so really depends if you go with the general trend in the fishing tackle, or maybe want to be a setter of new trends.Be nice to see one with a bend in it.. personally I don't like his ring spacing, just one on the butt is bit too minimal for me and maybe 5 plus the tip again...
Butt, what do I know..
You definitely wouldn't get a butt ring on a 10 footer....My 12ft rods are the ones I go to last of all my rods. You only really need that length if you're casting a distance. Most the time im using 10ft, 11, or 11.6.
Same here, I only have two 12ft rods, for flood water fishing, so I can keep as much line out of the water as possible. My 12ft rods are the ones I go to last of all my rods. You only really need that length if you're casting a distance. Most the time im using 10ft, 11, or 11.6.
Same here. I'd sold a lot of surplus gear and got mark to build me various specs of the Torrix's that I wanted, so won't be tempted with any other 'flagship blanks' to improve on what I have already.I think that's a good attitude. I have bought Aviator Carp rods but really so far, it is early days, I cant see much, if any, difference to the Torrix Carp rods. For the fishing I do I think I actually prefer the Torrix as they are easier action.
Same as the Torrix specialist. I bought those but prefer the Chimeras! There's a good case for sticking with what you know and like.
I won't buy the Aviator specialists.![]()
Which ones were a pig to cast with Chris? The 12' plus? I think the Flex would be all I need most of the time. I spoke to Steve Harrison who confirmed they share the same top section so will get the Flex butts and that will be all I need. I dont enjoy extreme range fishing and rarely even cast 100yds on the waters I fish. More like 20 - 80 mainly!I am a self obsessed Harrison hoarder - pretty much use Aviators exclusively for all my carp fishing and these include 10' 3.25's / 12' 3.2 Flex and 13' 3.5 Aviator Plus which all have different roles (bait-boat work / general small-mid water / range rods). However it will take a lot to prise me from my 12' 2.25 Torrix & 13' 2.75 Chimera 4 barbel bashing tools . . . . .the actions / ringing patterns are all unique to each rod and are arguably personal to the end user in terms of what they and the rod can do. Not sure how much advantage an Aviator blank will bring over the outgoing TOTR models . . .I had the 12' 3.6 Aviator Plus (before replacing with the Flex and adding the 13' version) and whilst they were nice enough to play big fish on, were an absolute pig to cast consistently with . . . .will be interesting to hear what the feedback is on the new lower tc ranges!
