Insight GR60X Line or ESP Syncro XT Loaded.

Not used gr60x but I have used the original gr60 and if it’s anything like that then it will be as tough as old boots and never let you down. Bit springy on the spool maybe but that may have been my poor loading. Hopefully others have first hand experience.

Synchro XT loaded I really didn’t get on with at all, I found it very wirey, didn’t seem to cast well (this was carp fishing so may be a moot point) and actually found the abrasion resistance pretty poor, the non loaded version, just labelled XT on the green spool however is fantastic and I have that on my ledger reels now.

I tried the GR60x and found it very wiry which was surprising as a big fan of the original gr60. Also tried the ESP and was okay but a little wiry…personally I think there is far better line available - Fox Exocet to name just one

I used loaded for around a year and it performed well. It sunk exceptionally well almost like a flouro but that's probably of no interest to the barbel fisher but I do remember looking for the line in clear water from a boat and I couldn't see it. It certainly didn't let me down on one of the most powerful fish I've ever hooked.
Not used gr60x but gr60 is exceptionally strong. Used it for years and not sure why I'm not using it now. I may have to revisit it some time soon.

Hi men

Line is so personal. Gr60 is bullet proof , not used x . At mo I'm using Avid camo mono , few seasons on it and it's been good , but after seeing the new Korda line might change over when I renew the spools for France in a couple of weeks

I took myself off to a tackle dealers asked about the gr60x to which he gave a similar response to yours so I have taken the plunge and gone for the esp synchro green label. As has been mentioned "line is so personal" time will tell as to how I get on. Thanks gents for your comments.👍

For some reason the XT Loaded in tests has been rated less in strength than the ordinary XT. I have used both and prefer the XT which I have used for several years for all my Carp and Barbel fishing. I recently bought some Gardner GT 80+ in 12lb. I only have it on my centrepin at present. First time using it I got the mother of all tangles on a Wallis cast! That probably was more to do with casting into a head wind at the time and having too little tension on the reel drag! After re-spooling it seems fine though has a peculiar feel about it somehow.
