Zander Fishing. Boat hire share.

Graham Elliott

Senior Member & Supporter
Anybody interested in doubling up with me and doing a Zander fishing 8 hour day early season? I would e deadbaiting.

Boat hire would cost £60 each.

Would be from Upton on Severn and I would be happy to advise any suitable gear if a newbie.

Just let me know if you fancy it and we will us book date.

Well Nic Cole and I managed our River boat trip.
The weather didn't bode well, with the day before being roasting temperatures and the same scheduled for our day.

I was lucky in that Nic was happy to do the boating bit, and highly competent he was too, steering us into bankside areas we could tie up to.

Into our first spot, with memories from my trip from before with Stevie Williams.
Action straight away with 3 Zander, including Nics first ever Z. He also managed a Pike.
So all looking good. However......
Despite trying a few more upstream stops, no bites forthcoming. It stayed that way until we headed downstream towards the M50 bridge.

Meanwhile Nic managed to catch some fresh bleak so we switched to lives.

4 more Zander followed in 2 two spots before we headed in.
Not many fish caught, and no really sizeable ones, but Nic can add Zander to his UK fish list, and hopefully will feel confident in the tackle and tactics for any future trips he takes from bank or boat. We never missed a bite.

A couple of photos. Hopefully Nic can add to.

It was great to meet up with a fellow BFWer and get afloat to do something a bit different. Graham's knowledge and experience got us off to a flying start and although I was on 'pest control' with a couple of very modest specimens it was most enjoyable. Sure, the weather could have been more conducive to predator fishing but we persevered and I went away at the end of the trip delighted to have caught two zeds and received a masterclass in location and tactics.
Thank you Graham for sorting willingly sharing your advice, bait and hook rigs!
