Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has one of the above they’d be willing to part with?
Or something similar?
Thanks in advance,
Rob

Hi Rob. I have a peregrine avon but no quiver. Roger told me to supply one would be around 100. I also have two torrix' built by roger both 1.75 but 1 is 11ft with a 4oz spliced in quiver the other a 12 with torzites. All 3 are about to be listed on here. The 3 cost me close to a thousand and I am sure would be more to get built now. My only personal additions were maroon whippings and silver wye butts. All very little used and mint.l

Hi rob I had my local tackle shop in reading advertised 2 of my rods these are secondhand.
1 x free spirit ctx multi feeder 11/13 ft comes with 3 tips I think he's advertised it on e bay for £120.
Other rod is 11ft dam carbomesh multi picker rod with 4 fine tips
(I can give good reports I've had 3x 5 lb chub out on this rod)
I can ask my guy for price if your I terested I could even deliver either or both. Regards peter

Think it was a harrison Avon specifically that he wanted Pete 😊

Thanks for the offers Alec & Peter,
Not quite what I’m after at this moment in time as I’ve sourced one of the Kingfisher chub specialist blanks that I will get built later in the season so after a Harrison ready to go if at all possible, and a quiver as the chub specialist is a hollow tip.
Appreciated though,
Rob

The Harrison Avon is a very nice blank, which in use reminded me of the original daiwa power mesh avons in terms of weight and feel

The Harrison Avon is particularly nice with the spliced in 3oz quiver. Don’t know why but it just feels better than the plain Avon to me, I have a twin tip. Sorry Rob Francis I don’t want to part with mine, not had them that long. Good luck with finding one.

I have the 1lb 6oz Harrison Avon with a long spliced 2 oz carbon tip. No id never part with it but it’s really not difficult to get hold of and have built
Thanks Richard,
I didnt think Harrisons were supplying the splice in tips anymore? But may be wrong
I'll have to have a ring round later to see what I can find out
Cheers,
Rob

I brought the blanks for a twin tip Avon in Spring 24 so Harrison’s had them then. However I do remember them saying they would look round to see if they had the spliced tip so perhaps they were considering not doing them any more and mine was old stock.
If you fancy building yourself don’t be put off by the implied complexity of “spliced” it’s not actually a splice, you just slide the solid tip up inside the hollow blank. It’s not even glued, the friction and the thread over the joint holds it in place, possibly the epoxy over the threads might penetrate the joint. You do need to match the tip to the rod and perhaps sand to fit. The biggest problem now might be supply of the tip. I’ve only spliced a tip once but it all went well so even a beginner can achieve a result.

I am having a 1.25lb Torrix built with the standard tip and a spliced in quiver as we speak so definitely still available. It did take a long while for my rod builder to get it from Harrison to be fair but they do still do them.

Hi rob this is what you could try and find as an alternative rod
Fox barbel special Rd 3507. 11ft
Has avon and spliced in quivertip 2oz glass

I've got this exact rod, lovely light weight feel to it, with spliced in quiver. Roger did these for me last year.

Can't remember what quiver rating these were though?

Took it out yesterday and the cray fish bites were showing up nicely 🤣🤣🤣alas no chub!

These will make wonderful light legering rods for Perch too!

Is it the guy that runs Buzzard Rods doing these for you? I seem to recall seeing a completed twin tip on his Facebook page not too long ago
