Shimano Baitrunner 6000: XTR-RA, XT-RA, XTEA or GTE-C?

Thanks everyone for the hints and tips. My budget definitely can’t stretch to some of the eye watering prices of the top reels. I have seen some Okuma Epix Pro EPB 50s. Any thoughts on these? They seem to have been quite popular on here.

I use these, seems pretty bomb proof so far!

Gavin,
Ask on here if anyone has a pair of 4000 or 6000 Shimano OC's they are willing to sell. I've purchased all mine second hand from BFW members. Great reels, and spare spools are very reasonably priced.

Ive had pretty much the full range of rear drag baitrunners over the years - The XTR RA's Super Baitrunners are an absolute gem and the best model they ever made. They replaced the XTEA's and are even better imo, but I doubt you will find a set now as they have since been replced by the X-Aero range (which arent quite as good, although i do like the spool size on these).

GTE/GTE-Cs are ok but very dated now. The drag and line lay is surpassed by many more modern, and cheaper brands nowadays. The only reason I would consider a GTE/GTE-C is if i wanted another set of 5000 size. In any other size I would buy something else.

If on more of a budget and now considering front drag the Okuma 6000 Inc reels are very good.
