Hi Guys I’m a new member on BFW and would like some advice please.
I’m looking at 2 rods which I have never used before both are 1.75 TC in which I will be fishing the Trent this summer . Both rods a I understand have a casting weight of 5/6ozs, I live in Surrey so will be fishing the Thames mainly the weirs, they are both great rods and I cannot make up my mind which would be better for my needs .

hello Kieth , for casting those weights , i would personally get 2-25 or even 2-1/2 TC rods .
 
Hi Craig thanks for the info! I would not be using the maximum casting weight but trying to select the best rods for different scenarios small rivers go large rivers?

it’s difficult to pick one rod to cover all bases . i fish medium size rivers , but still got a pair of 2 TC and a pair of 2 1/2 TC for when there flooded and heavier leads / feeders are needed.

You may get more responses if you could be more specific about which FreeSpirit and Cadence rods you are talking about.
 
Hi Free spirit cdx barbel tamer 12ft 1.75 tc
Cadence CR10 12ft 1.75 tc
Both nice rods but need advice on them as
I cannot view these rods with no retailers where I live in Surrey.
