Can anyone recommend any protective hard cases like the flight case type? Or similar for rods and reels either combination or separate cases, for two rods and reels set ups? Tia

Also the thing is I’ll be travelling with someone else and sometimes there will be 3 lots of tackle going in the van for weekends so there’s going to a lot of gear going in making space more limited and also makes the likelihood of damage more possible?

i’ve got it to put in the back of my motorhome , when i get to where im going i decide what i need and put those rods in a fold up quiver .
It’s just so no rods get damaged in the back whilst in transit . Brilliant bit of kit .

I alternate between K.I.S..
And Bazuka Pro for air travel.
For the back of the van might be a bit overkill.
Have you thought of strapping them up high on the ceiling of the van?
Nowt can fall in them then.
Unless you roll the van🤔

Jim I’ve seen the bazuka ones but don’t know what the K.I.S. Is? And the van I will be travelling in isn’t mine so wanting something sturdy I can put the rods in the back of the van and not worry too much about what others gear may or may not be placed? “Chucked in!” 😉 Then I’ll take them out and put in my quiver once at the venue mate

Cheers Derek, that one’s sold but I’ve seen one elsewhere for £120 but found a bazuka one for less, gonna have a think 💭 about it, I might just get the 4 rod Cresta one similar to the one Craig posted☝🏻? 🤔

I’ve had a KIS case for 30 odd years and it has taken fly rods all over the World.

Pretty simple (original version was for skis) telescopic case that extends to about 6ft and inches. Lockable too.

The latest ones can be pretty colours and have wheels on the end.

I haven’t used mine for years as fly rods are now multi-piece and fit in a big holdall with my gear/clothes (also saves punitive baggage charges).

If you just want it for local protection; just buy some land drainage pipe and make foam end caps to fit. Available in different diameters depending on how many rods you need to carry. Much cheaper and it is light but strong. We use it in our holdalls for fly rods. I usually carry 6 or 7 in 1 tube. Saves space and more importantly weight.

Tim I like that idea 👌🏻 as it’s only going to be used while in transit and I’ve got a length of drainage already that was left over from a job, I just need to source something for end caps? that I might have already from some other drainage that’s used to blank off the outlets in drainage gullies? thanks for the suggestion mate 👍🏻
