Advice on new rods please?

I'm looking to buy a pair of new rods, specifically for barbel fishing next season. I do already own 4 sets, which consist of Drennan and Korum in 1.75s, 2.25s and 2.75s but looking to invest in better quality rods that would cover me for a variety of scenarios. I mainly fish the middle Trent in various locations from Burton on Trent, through to Gunthorpe and Hoveringham Nottingham stretches and Derbyshire areas and occasionally into the tidal Trent. If you had say up to £750.00 to invest in a pair of new rods specifically for barbel what would be your choice or recommendation for fishing these areas? Many thanks in advance for any response.

A pair of Chimera 3's. 12' nominal TC of 2.25lb. All bases covered and change left cover.

You'll find lots of good reviews of here and elsewhere.
Hi Joe,

I have been considering these, I think they worked out at around £670.00 for a pair and have looked at many posts on here regarding them. Thank you for the reply

Hi Russ,.
I think if you're only fishing the tidal occasionally, I would keep hold of your 2.75s.
And go for the 2lb torrix in 11ft, they too would cover you for a few different scenarios. Like the c3s would also.

12' Torrix 2.25 is as close to an 'all rounder' as you can get IMO and I love the versatility they provide for most situations (tin hat on; I am a carper primarily so er on the side of bullying over finesse!). . . however in any discipline there are always compromises and in reality there is not a single rod that will work everywhere - on this basis still think you'll need heftier rods for the Trent when its pushing through / flood fishing etc . . . . .on this basis if I was going to upgrade my Korum shark rods it would probably be 13' Chimera 4's . . .

Hi Chris, the Torrix does seem to be a good choice for an all rounder and I do have heftier rods should the situation require it. Chimera #3 also seems a great pice of kit 🤦‍♂️

The 2.25 is a great all round rod I use mine on the nene flicking out 1oz leads and I’ve also used them on Collingham weir casting 3-4oz leads really giving it some beans I wouldn’t be frightened of flicking out 5-6 oz on the tidal ..they are fantastic to play fish on as well
I’ve had free spirit 2.25 hi,s but the basia is a far superior rod imho
If I could only have one rod it would be be the basia 2.25 it would cover 90% of my fishing the only time I wouldn’t use them would be in big floods
