Barbel videos on YouTube

I'm working away overseas at the moment and missing my fishing, so started looking to see what I could find on YouTube. There's a lot of films that are distinctly average so thought I'd ask if any of you have any particular favourites to try and shortcut the search process.

Please drop a link in the thread for any favourites and then we can get a few 'pre approved' by BFW members for us all to drop on to when the need arises.

Many thanks

Matt Hayes has uploading some nice films onto YouTube entitled Fisherman's Country. The river sections cover the middle Severn principally and as you would expect from Matt they are very well presented ( along with Mick Brown) and nicely shot. Another guy I like to watch has a Facebook group 'Robs Angling' and has quite a few YouTube videos, again principally based on the middle Severn. Comes across as a really nice chap. Then there's the 'Silent angler' films on YouTube mainly shot on the Wye. Sorry, no idea how to provide links. 😔

I find the vast majority of stuff on Youtube to be amateurish, product placement mad or both.

I’m also finding the latest Matt Hayes content to be a little dated in its style.

My recommendation is take out a one month subscription to Fishflix, as the content from Martin Bowler is awesome and the new bench mark in angling films:

There’s a Fishflix app too.

I'm sure i'll succumb to Fishflix at some point but there must be some good free stuff to watch first

I once made a few YouTube videos, wasn't going to mention them but a few people enjoyed them and I got good feedback off them. Have a search for 'the barbel project'. It's only amateur stuff and the first ones I made are terrible but the later ones aren't so bad 😂

Thanks Connor

This guy's stuff is quite good

Comes across as a normal chap who just loves his fishing.

Thanks

I quite like Avon Angling videos. Seems a "no-nonsence" guy. Also has a 2nd site on YouTube where he gives hints and tips about bait, rigs, equipment etc.
He insists he is not sponsored, so that's reassuring.
