As my fishing has now migrated to mostly chub and barbel, I am reluctantly selling my cherished Shimano Stella 2500FE to fund some more tackle. Its in brilliant condition, and has been meticulously looked after. It comes with the original box, literature, case, spool adjustment washers, and a Gomexus handle and stay conversion kit, which I had fitted for a period. There is a little mark on the oil filler cap - but these are still available from Shimano (Felindre) quite cheaply if you wanted to replace it.
This is a Rolls-Royce of spinning reels; the Stella FE won the title of the Worlds Best Freshwater Reel Award at ICAST 2010.
It is a simply perfect reel for stick float and waggler fishing on UK rivers, and unlike more modern Shimano Reels, this has an anti-reverse!!!! The line lay is absolutely perfect - it is sublime to use. So if you are looking for the best - you have found it! Its caught many many chub, roach and dace over the years, and still runs like a swiss watch with the Stella's super crisp bail arm, and dependable drag. It has a host of features you would struggle to find on the very best reels available today. Absolutely perfect paired with a spliced tip rod!
