What’s better than a December barbel?

Nice return for a short trip on a “Yorkshire” river somewhere. Second fish (bottom photo) was 8lbs 8oz and gave a good account of itself in a rising river. First fish went off like a rocket and scared the living daylights out of me! I thought my Speedia was going to go up in flames 😂
 
Fairly new to this forum and back to Barbel fishing after 20 plus years. Two today on the wye. 10. 1 and 9.4 That brings me too 9 barbel in 8 sessions, must be doing something right! Best so far 10.8 Will see what tomorrow brings.

I never noticed any damage to the tail however I did have an otter in the swim after I caught it. I've not noticed any damage to the fish at Stacklands, infact all the fish I've caught have been in perfect condition.
