Hi all and thanks for letting me join,I'm in the sw UK and want to fish the wye and am a little confused.i obviously have my 2 rod fishing license and want to know where I can fish the wye on a day ticket ,where I can buy these and if there's any other membership I need.

Any help very much appreciated

A good place to start is Ross on Wye Town.

I am assuming the Wye is not on your doorstep but you are over that side of the country. Hereford & District AA have a good amount of water and various membership options and all info is on their website https://hdaa.org.uk/membership/.

I am sure locals will post up details of other club or day ticket availability.

A lot of the Wye can be booked through the Wye and Usk Foundation at https://www.fishingpassport.co.uk/ These will be more expensive at around £25 per day but there are limits on the number of tickets sold for each beat and some days there are no tickets at all to ensure angling pressure remains fairly low.

Angling Dreams based in Ross have a similar system but fewer waters although they do have season and part season options. Details on website http://www.anglingdreams.co.uk/

If you need accomodation options I am sure you will get some good recommendations on here. I have used; Ross on Wye Premier Inn, Inn on the Wye at Kerne Bridge and Stay by the Wye which is on AirBnB.
 
Welcome Richard. The Wye Valley is stunning place to be.
Get yourself up there to have a butchers. There will be more club stretches (requiring further fees for membership), but as Graham Elliot alludes, some free stretches also.

Got back.to fishing last year and visited the wye. Spent last year scoping it out. You have the town stretch at wye for £10 if he comes around winter mid week..unlikely. You can park a van and sleep next 50 meters from the river. 3 yr waiting list ( so I'm told for Ross ticket . Hereford has lots of stretches but you have to go to the woodys to buy the ticket and he only takes cash. This is a big problem if travelling from southwest as you will only get half a day in. Also Hereford traffic is bad. The only other stretch is Stacklands that I've now fished 6 times on the BAA ticket, great value at £30 for year as pensioner. I think the opposite bank stretch caradoc is 35 a day ??????. Will be joining Hereford in the new year and Baa. I'm based bear Barnstaple so 140 miles but I have a motorhome. If you have a van Lucksall campsite is really good next to river but you have to drive to Hereford to get a day ticket.....? If Hereford sold tickets online they would make so much more than what they make now but don't seem to care. Cash is king....... ps Angling Dreams do a winter ticket for I think 6 stretchs £110 1st Nov until end of season...Good value..Found this out on last Tuesday. Tight lines.

Hi Alan,many thanks for your information,I've bought the Angling Dreams ticket and plan my first day on the 29th on the lower court stretch,do you know how far the river stretch is at Ross on Wye is there any information anywhere., and where is Lucksall campsite I do have a good motorbike tent .

And is it possible to buy day tickets to fish dated so say the day after purchase.
