No need to be sorry D . Some time back I had heard one of the drennan lines was thought to have been perlon. I've no idea how true that is though.
Bayer Perlon is kamasan which I think is said to be part of drennan.

i will use one (quite rarely) if I feel the situation is going to be advantageous by using it.
I prefer to use a pin but at the end of the day it’s about catching fish and if my casting isn’t good enough to get me right onto them then I don’t hesitate to use something that will.

I’ve used my line dispenser for donkeys years,… it’s permanently in place at one end of the long garage. I knocked it up in my old engineering workshop. I suspected at the time that I hadn’t put enough tension on the spool when loading the pin. The line isn’t as bad as it looks,… I grabbed this pic from a short video and hilighted the line to make the pinging more noticeable.
That said I’m not a great fan of drennan float fish ( 5lb bs 0.20mm) but it was all I could get at short notice.
We’ve all got our preferences I guess.

I am G.,… Silstar for general trotting , GR 60 for barbel.
It was a last minute decision the night before to respool with 100mtrs. When I looked in my line store cupboard I’d not restocked with Silstar and only had an old spool of DFF besides shed loads of 12lb GR.

O/T. I’m surprised the Hardy didn’t get snapped up at that price,… as I’d given it a waggle I thought it to be a superb rod,… although I feel more comfortable with the 14’.
