Back rod rests

Can anyone recommend a good set of back gripping rod rests that can take a cork handle. Been using the Enterprise ones which are really good but they just don’t seem to last, seem to get brittle and snap after a while if knocked.

I’ve been using the ones sold by Chris Brown angling products, they are inexpensive and compact size I’ve been using for the last 3 seasons with no issues so far.

Tnx for that; I use his sticks, buzz bars etc but have never used the backrests ! I’ve got at least 5 of them. I will give them a try.

Angling Direct have the same made by Zebco half the price

For corks you'll need the larger Solar P1. . . fully adjustable so you can gauge how tight you want the release to be quickly and easily.

I'm a TOTAL Jag fanboy (and have owned the lockdowns) but must say that whilst pretty they are nowhere near as good as Solar P1 . . .two different sized backrests and a multitude of rubber inserts (that you have to purchase in addition) that are a pain to get in and out as you try and ascertain a perfect fit . . . they don't retain rods on savage takes half as well as the P1 either IMO . . .which is why most users also add the Jag rod locker bungee system (which tbf IS a good product!) making them a little superfluous. . .

I used to just fish using the Solar P1, then added the Jag Rod Lock and then Wolf Multi Angle Lock.

ESP for me have been spot on, if you want to use your own then you could use a butt bungee like the Sonik version, they're great, especially for some of the savage takes on say the Trent

I occasionally use 2 ft of 8mm bungee cord and 3 cable ties. Central loop goes round the rod rest and an adjustable loop in either end goes round the rod butts ( a slight cork flare helps) . Just make sure the bank stick is well in....
On my venues I try and avoid 3 ft twitches and I don't get many bites anyway !
