I would be very tempted had I not already have one.
I certainly wouldn’t trade mine in for a 13ft acolyte plus. Better river float rod in every way imo.

What a lovely and rare condition amazing rod.
Daiwa rods of this caliber are fantastic.
Guides are as good as it gets. Handle and reel seat are just superb and I love the blanks and their action but one thing they do that I’ve never come across with any other rod as good and that’s splice a blank properly.

The solid tip seamlessly blends into the hollow section with a perfect curve.
It’s lovely and soft right at the tip and gets firmer towards the back where it meats the hollow part and the two actions marry up spot on. Such a crying shame we can’t buy this craftsmanship from daiwa anymore.

The fact that they actually use a decent length correctly matched tip and splice it at a guide point, is better than a lot of other rods for a start.

Good luck with the sale. To get one of those brand new and unused is a rarity.

As good a recommendation as anyone could possibly ask for. I fancy it but no nice rivers to fish and no money . The second I hope to remedy fairly shortly but the first means moving home so makes that out too.

Out of curiosity, what are the line ratings for the rod Danny ?

If I compare it with the sphere I’d say the sphere has a nudge more power or stiffness in the blank but the spheres tip is softer.
The daiwa is heavier. It’s the same weight as my 15’6 sphere at 187g

Little wonder perhaps you became confused. I would too if I knew what you said, could spell it and understand the theory. I had enough trouble with relativity pre my divorce.

Thanks for the info Richard, I was just curious is all, i'm not after one. Regarding spliced rods i'm happy with my spheres 😎👍.
