Landing net

Sorry if this has been asked before, did do a quick search.
After a decent landing net, my Korum spoon one broke last night at the spreader block again, 2nd one to go.
Any recommendations appreciatedšŸ‘

Iā€™ve just bought the Drennan specimen triangle net, seems a good bit of kit, although it takes some putting together first few times you use it

I use a Westlake 36ā€ triangle net.

Stupidly cheap but works just fine. Approx 20 quid for the spreader, arms and a nice deep mesh.

It has relegated my Chris Brown to back-up.

When my Korum folding net broke I went back to the rigid Korum net as I like the rubberised mesh. For a totally bomb proof net I have an old Shakespeare triangle net with two arms that fit in a solid metal spreader block. The only downside being the soft mesh getting snagged in every bush and bramble it comes into contact with.

Both my korums that have broke were the rigid ones. Love the nets, but that spreader block needs changing. Although my last one did last me 6 years.

+1 for Tackle Box Darent Valley - have had the 32" & 36" for sometime now - excellent spreader blocks; decent mesh - v good value

I think you mean Specialist Triangle. I got a Drennan Specialist after leaving my folding Korum one at Fladbury. It's a 24", which looked huge to me, but will be deemed too small by more successful barbel fishermen. Very happy with it, very solid. Don't think I'll go back to a folding one.

If I start catching bigger fish I'm sure I would get a 36" Drennan Specialist Triangle.

Your 24inch drennan specialist will be fine Kevin, you could fit a monster in that!

They do the all metal one Carl. You wonā€™t break that itā€™s a solid bit of kit with a very strong frame. All metal. No plastic.
Cheers Rich, never knew about the all metal one šŸ‘
This time it wasnā€™t the block thatā€™s gone. It was the net frame where the screws keep it attached to the block. Obviously a weak point on the net frame.
Will go and have a look at the metal one šŸ‘
