Sadly just heard news today that Gerry passed away.
Well respected on a lot of the Carp fishing Forums and loved his Barbel Fishing.
Rest in peace Gerry. Screenshot_20241003_222933_Facebook.jpg

That is such sad news, never had the pleasure of meeting him, but i always respected his views on BFW, R.I.P. Gerry 🙏 🙏 🙏

Very sad. Nice guy
Didn’t know him personally but will miss chatting to him on here.

Rest in peace mate and my condolences to the family

I echo everyone's sentiments, only knew of him through this forum but he seemed a real enthusiastic character, we will miss him.

I'm really sorry to read this. Gerry was a longstanding and very active member of the site, since 2016.

RIP Gerry.

Sad news. Can remember him on carp forum years ago then remember him popping up on here after deciding to have a go at barbel again. Pretty sure someone helped him bag an 11lber as his first fish. RIP Gerry

Sad news. As others have said, a valued contributor on here.

Thoughts with his family and those who knew him personally.

RIP Gerry.

Gerry lived local to me and we went to a couple of Barbel shows together. When I mentioned that a Roman well had been found close to us. I said we should get his metal detector out and find a Roman hoard or Villa. Watching the Detectorists after his recommendation got me dreaming of riches. Sadly he was really struggling to walk any distance and it did not come about. Rest in peace Gerry.
