River Wye Day ticket

Morning Guys,

I'm after some advice about some safe fishable pegs for this weekend on the Wye. I'm happy to use a spike and rope and scale most banks, but my 2 friends who I'm taking with me are less mobile...so what I'm after really is 2 safe pegs close to each other that they can fish which gives me peace of mind so can fish myself without worrying about them!! My initial thought was to go and fish the town stretch in Hereford where they have proper wooden platforms, but I didn't realise the Wye team championships is on all HDAA stretches this weekend. anyone got any ideas?

Many thanks
Ollie

Oliver, if you can get to Hoarewithy there is Aramstone run by Stan Turner where you can park behind your swims (contact him on Facebook) or have a look at the Old Harp Fishery online. HDAA has plenty but it depends which sections are in the match.

Ollie,

Just adding to the suggestion of fishing the day ticket town stretch in Ross on Wye. Ross on Wye Angling club has recently installed some more platforms. You don't need to buy day tickets in advance as they can be purchased directly from the club's bailiffs on the bank. I have heard that the day ticket town stretch has been fishing well recently. I hope that this helps a bit.

Hi Ollie,

I just thought that the Ross club's website page for the town stretch might be useful to you.

There is a map at the bottom of the page that clearly shows the day ticket stretch. One thing that I am aware of is that Fishers no longer sell day tickets but Badgers baits do. As I mentioned previously, day tickets can be bought directly on the bank from a bailiffs at a cost of ten pounds.

Cheers

Chris
