A four piece, no ta
Ah yeah, thanks Roy
I’ve been watching it out of interest, but it’s out of reach for me just now and I’d probably prefer the heavier (Specimen?) incarnation.

I have the 2009 hardy coarse catalogue on line. Anyone who wishes to have a copy just pm me. I also have a few supero pages from the 2012 cat plus I made a list of supero rods, line ratings and cw eg the specimen 12 supero line is 6-14. casting weight 110. Again if I have the supero pages anyone wants just shout. As Graham said, I think they only did a specimen in 13ft Alan, the 14 footer was rated to 8lb same as the specimen 13ft rod though and it is great for float fishing for barbel. I targetted barbel with the 14ft specialist rod and it was excellent....imo. I sold the rod i'd been using, but I still have a brand spanker which i'm loath to use and spoil it's virginity lol.
I'm not sure but I "think" the 15ft rod was rated to 6lb so no doubt it would be fine to target barbel with, of that's what you want one for.
They are seriously nice rods to use and to look at!
Have you got the 15ft tsi Allan?. I have the 12' specialist. Went well today with a 15lb carp. It’s all academic to me. I’m happy with my TSi and my Acolyte Specimen (for the time being!)
I probably know as much as you do AlanIt’s just called TSi 15’ Float.
Ask Rich though. It is DEFINITELY a power float rod but so much more besides.
gives me something else to look for, thanks guys.I probably know as much as you do Alan
It’s a fast tippy 15ft rod with a steely mid to lower that can comfortably deal with double figured barbel and heavy lines.
I’ve currently had 3 doubles on mine with countless singles and chub on it too and it’s been a pleasure to use
Acolyte specimens are even stiffer again but the action type is very similar.
They didn’t hang around long.gives me something else to look for, thanks guys.
I said similar about the middy when the launched the quartix feeder. At 50% more than their top then offering, for a maker with poor redidual values on their used rods, that it was a very brave move. I felt they were either a misguided act of desperation or an inspired product. Having got a 12ft I think it is quite magical. They didn’t hang around long.
They are mega few and far between simply due to the fact that TF Gear launched them to crack into the high end market.
Don’t get me wrong the product was brilliant. The blanks are extremely high end and the top fittings all put on but people had a problem with paying £250 plus in 2009-2010 for something with TF gear on it.
Custom builds were cheaper back then so as you can imagine shops didn’t sell many, certainly didn’t order many more and production stopped then the stock was discounted to clear. Bye bye tsi 15’
