Spam for record size barbel

A modest 1.9kg tin of spam I was recently given for a birthday present.

I can’t decide whether to use it in quarters or halves.

Run a knife around the meat in the tin and puncture a hole in the bottom, the hole stops the suction effect .

i'd be whacking some of that in some crusty bread with a dollop of picallili
i had a 12.7 barbel off the thames on half tin of the big tin spam
amazes me how they engulf it or maybe they try dragging it somehow..id love to see it sightfishing

Think it’s a bit of both. Iv landed fish and still had half the meat slid up the hooklink. Iv even slid it back down and recast the remaining meat and caught another fish. First time I ever used half a big tin of spam I caught the smallest pencil thin eel Iv ever caught
