I'v caught this fish twice Neil, both times in march. The weights then were 12lb 2 and. 12lb 6. A mate had it early season last year at 10lb 8 oz.

very nice mark the reason why fish need recognising in my opinion
i'd put it at 12lb and in october i wouldn't imagine it being at its top weight!

why do lads have to make themselves look stupid i was only talking about the fact today that 14lb barbel are very few and far between these days!

Charlie. I had a guy only Tuesday telling me that he's had a few 14's off the Wye. He also lost a 15 plus fish recently, when I asked him how he knew it was 15 his reply was ' well it snapped my 15lb line' haha

I'd say it was around 12 also. Certainly looks fairly full to me. The big Wye fish look massive compared to other rivers. I see anglers all the time thinking they have a double and when weighed they barely make 8lb

I heard of a 10lb chub and a 16 lb barbel off the Ross water in one seesion weighted no doubt with those cheap luggage scales ,i think he was carted off to the local sanatorium
