The exe has barbel in, you just need to put the groundwork in to find them. But that's what fishing is about isn't it?

    Drennan tackle

Snapped my drennan handle on the first trip out lifting a small carp out of the water. Took it back to Cadbury angling and the drennan rep replaced it with his apologies as the carbon had a weak spot. Drennan really are first class when it comes to customer service.

    Flooding and drought?

stour has burst its banks, hamps avon close to doing the same. Bristol Avon is almost over the banks, Wye is around a foot off the top - yet we are in drought still?? I guess the drought is decided by the levels of the reservoirs and not rivers. Chew is still very very low.

    lovely day on the wye.

agree with steve. stones/rocks just to the left of the fish, just one jump/move and it could result in damage. As for grass, hmmm, its pretty threadbare. I love the idea of the picture, and i dont mean to be anal, but come on lads - hand on hearts - landing mats are essential for the...

begs the question lads - what is anybody doing about these EE's? Maybe if you put more effort into actually doing something about it rather than bickering on a website forum, perhaps the problem could be erradicated?

    Feeding barbel

This reminds me of the time one of my mates had a barbel off the wye. Whilst we were resting it, two other barbel sat waiting no more than 10 foot away from the landing net. When we let the barbel recover and released it, the 2 barbel came right up to the net and they all swam off! Absolutely...

    Fishing prolific Rivers

Agree with Clive, after 3 years of struggling on the Bristol Avon - the Wye is a fantastic place for a top up! Come Sept when the hordes have moved on from the BA, the Wye will be put to one side and my focus will start again on the BA.
