I use the korum transition ruck bag and the chair clips to that and goes on your back. You used to be able to buy bed chair straps so you can carry your chair over your shoulder in sure you could still get them
Used to always use barbless and rarely lost a fish but when I changed rods I was losing probably a third of the fish I hooked normally under the rod tip so it wasn’t like it was a poor hook hold as I’d played the fish to the bank before losing it. After losing what felt like a monster on the...
It’s not always possible to unhook the fish in the water. If I can I do. But if the banks too high off the water what option do you have but to remove it?
I don’t see a problem with people having hand held shots with the fish as long as it’s looked after. Personally after netting a fish I’ll let it recover for however long it takes before taking it out the water to unhook. If I think it’s worth weighing I’ll put it back in the water for a bit then...
Generally if I want to go fishing I’ll go no matter the water temperature. Only exception really is if there’s a load of snow melt recently entered the water along with all the road salt. My general rule though is if the air temp is 3 degrees or less when I get there and only going to get colder...
I’m not that convinced either but even if they were escapees that weren’t used to hunting their own food it would still come as second nature to them. There is enough food out there for them to never need to come into contact with any humans. Stealth in ingrained into their dna so you could...
Iv seen a couple of videos where it would be hard to argue against it being a big cat. Not sure if it’s this thread or the other one where someone mentioned kinver and I remember watching the documentary with that clip on and soon as it started I said that’s kinver before they said it was. From...
Not sure if Iv mentioned this on here before or not but one of my mates used to work with me in the week then go to his dads in Derby on the weekend to help him out on his farm. He knew I was into this kind of stuff and remember him coming back one week and saying you’re going to love this, he’d...
I brought a box of something similar few years back. Can only really feel the heat if I stick them directly to my toes or inside the sock not on the outside like they recommend. Problem then is they move if you walk around. They don’t give of that much heat either but they do work a bit
I can remember fishing a couple of pegs down from there once under that big tree that overhangs the river and they started a duck shoot over there. I was covered in lead shot falling out the sky. Had a duck fly into my line as well and honestly thought my rod had snapped. The cracking noise it...
The odd sounds definitely put you on edge when you’re on your own so it’s not just you that gets freaked out by that. I find if you fish a peg often enough you learn the sounds in that swim. Unless an animal starts creeping around you then you’re back on edge til you see what it is. Whenever I...
If I fish 2 rods I like to have them either side of the peg so that if I get a fish on one the other isn’t in the way. Only time I’ll have them next to each other is if there is enough room to play the right hand rod stood to the right of them and the left stood to the left.
I don’t do it as much anymore but if I hadn’t had a touch for a while and was going to recast I always used to try count 60 seconds in my head then normally add on another 10 seconds before I reeled in. You’d be surprised the amount of times I’d get into the 50’s and get a bite
I used to know a lad who was big into fishing until he had most his gear robbed. He never bothered replacing it cause at the time he had just got into scuba diving so spent his spare time doing that instead. He used to go diving in carp lakes and used to tell me about how you could swim right up...
