You Can't Catch Barbel On The Float In Winter.....

Not in the video (unfortunately) but I fell heaad fisrt into the river as I exited to go home lol. Payback for me laughing at a friend when he fell in while we fished together back end of last summer. Go on Josh, have a laugh at me know 🤣😂👍. At least you fell in shallower water when it was...

    Jw young reel valuation

I'd suggest you contact Garry Mills at Mill Tackle and ask him about your reel. He will have made the reel.

    DAIWA Sensor line problems

Just back from my local tackle shop, no shortage of sensor. He says those rumours of fire, etc, are just rumours. Apparently, they have a new distributor, so don't panic for now, sensor lovers :-).

    DAIWA Sensor line problems

Chris, I have used a friend's setup, and he had the Dave Harrell line on his reel. If I'm honest, it didn't feel like anything special to me, especially given the price! My friend didn't have it on his reel long before he replaced it with another line. For years, several friends and I were...

    DAIWA Sensor line problems

Wouldn't surprise me if they are just bullshine. Regarding the reliability/quality of the line, which I've had, I haven't noticed anything wrong with it. I'll ask my local tackle shop and see if he has any thoughts on the rumours lol.

    DAIWA Sensor line problems

Thanks, Derek. I found it a little odd that the 6lb Hyper is about the same diameter as the original 4lb sensor. The reason I found it odd was that the 4lb original sensor breaks at about 6lb... if you get my drift on that? Obviously, it may be a totally different line, but I'm suspicious LOL...

    DAIWA Sensor line problems

I use it all the time, it's my go-to mono. I've tried loads of different lines for trotting, and the original sensor has proved to be unrivalled for my style of fishing. I can't remember where it was, but ive heard the same story. How would the tightening of Japanese regulations come into...

    DAIWA Sensor line problems

I doubt it will have anything to do with the plastic spools. I got two bulk spools of 6lb sensor recently from a local tackle shop. They didn't mention any issues getting hold of it. If I couldn't get hold of the normal sensor, I would try the hyper sensor. Failing that, I would go for Bayer...

    Cheap pins

For what it's worth, Bob, I would recommend you take a look at the Okuma Sheffield or the Okuma Aventa reels; they are excellent reels. You can pick up second-hand ones in used or even unused condition for not too much money. If you look after them, then you'll most likely get the majority...

    Thigh waders

I would recommend Aigle rubber thigh waders. I've been using them a lot for many years, and i've found them to be excellent.

Hahaha, to be honest, Chris, they are fine to drive in. They have separate felt-soled boots, which are easier to drive in than my ordinary ones. The uppers dry out nicely with the car heater blowing, but the neoprene socks and boots are still soaked, so they need hanging up to dry off.

You Can't Catch Barbel On The Float In Winter.....

Thanks, John, the rivers I fish are spate, so they're up and down like a Kangaroo! I have to keep my eye on the weather conditions and the river levels in advance to spot a day suitable to fish.
