Sorry about the late reply Adey.My beloved's been monopolising the laptop.Short answer is I don't think so.I was going to mention it to him but I just didn't want to end up arguing with the guy.Dont need the hassle while fishing.
Hi all.Excuse the rant, went fishing yesterday to a local gravel pit for the first time this year.It is a predominately a carp pit but also holds large tench and bream.Every year the rules seem to change regarding catching, handling carp etc.I had a float rod set up for fishing for tench just over...
Seeing as its silly season on here here's my contribution.Having recently ordered a hand built rod, during Easter we had a full get together at my daughters house.A slap up meal +wine.Lovely.After the meal my wife mentioned that I was blowing the kids inheritance on a new rod.
The 2...
Hi all.I used to work for the Yorkshire ambulance service before retirement and was based at a rural ambulance station covering the South Yorkshire Pennines into the North Derbyshire/East Lancashire border areas. Some of the locations that we had to get to were as remote as they can be in...
Hi all.Have been following this thread with interest.Out yesterday on the Wharfe.Found a textbook eddy/crease downstream of a willow, blanked even though I"ve had some success from there in the past.Considered moving but that appeared to be the only safe, fishable swim on the length.
Thinking back...
I think I have posted before on here regarding my thing which is also assembling my landing net first and last thing to take down. Also my rod rest or rests have to be vertical as you look at them.Apart from that I'm O.K I think but had to have a word with myself recently while putting up some...
Thank you Paul.As I was the only person on the length I was fishing ,while roving trying different spots, I spotted the hare about 100mtrs above where I was casting at the bottom of the high bank.As I was struggling to get any response from the fish, just for the hell of it I decided to see how...
Hopefully you have got it sorted now but reading this was reminded of when my main plan of attack was a maggot feeder with a quiver tip.
After a couple of trips found my mainline was frayed, you could feel it when you ran your fingers down it.Dispensed with the quiver tip, problem solved.
No marks...
Digressing slightly but par for the course on B.F.W.Due to the rivers being so low at the moment have found that my normal landing net handle was hardly reaching the water from some pegs on high banks. After rectifying a problem with my net (see post River Nidd) popped into the tackle shop today...
Slightly digressing from the thread but normal for B.F.W I think. With the rivers so low I have struggled to get the net head into the water in some swims from a high bank.Decided to invest today in a longer handle after rectifying problems with the net.See post River Nidd on first day of season...
Hi all.Been busy catching up on all my D.I.Y jobs to get in front for the 16th so I can fish with a clear conscience hence not had a chance to post!.Fished last Weds in a carp puddle to try and gain some confidence that I can catch fish.
Landed 16 carp up to 14lbs, a good days fishing but...
Love the phrase"blanking is character building".I was touring different spots but had a week on Mull.To be honest was only playing at it,fishing for just the odd hour or two so no time to go exploring really. Also tried bait fishing, like yourself I couldn't even catch a crab but it just shows...
Hi all.Not posted for a while basically because nothing to report.Had a few goes for the Tench.Blanked!.Went to the dark side and had one session carping.Blanked!!.
Just returned from a holiday on the west coast of Scotland.Somehow a spinning rod and reel + lures found its way into my boot...
